Just as the building itself blends two very diverse non-profit groups, the grand opening moment had to also reflect the spirit of each. After speeches, a “wizard” emerged from the crowd with an oversized key and beckoned for the benefactor’s 2 grandsons to join him. The grandsons were presented with the key, and were led to the front doors of ImaginOn that were covered with a giant colorful children’s book, reading “Once Upon a Time…” As the grandsons turned the key in the lock and the “door” opened, confetti cannons boomed and out poured a parade of 100 children from 6-16. Each child had donned a costumed and quickly played to the crowd as they emerged from the book. A live brass band played an accompaniment. After all the kids paraded out, the wizard led dignitaries into ImaginOn, followed by the public.

To accomplish this mission, the agency planned a black-tie event in her honor – The Celebration of Hope. Hope Stout passed away right before the first annual Celebration of Hope, but her story continues to live on. She inspired the community with her selflessness and a phenomenal number wished to be involved in making her wish a reality.
